As mentioned at our March general membership meeting, the national day of action for the 'Occupy the Post Office' event is scheduled for April 17th. 

A Facebook page has been created with additional information about the event as well as information regarding legislative actions currently being considered in changing our future and more than likely our careers!

APWU Local #342 President Jim Alexander will give the training with the assistance of SOAL Officers and Stewards.

The training will provide a basic understanding of the grievance procedure and its step-by-step process. Attendance at the training does not come with the expectation that you be a Shop Steward, but a more knowledgeable Union member. We can never have too many Shop Stewards though.

Please let Jim or Mike and Tina know if you can attend so that we can have enough training materials.

The Southern Oregon Area Local will be having their next general membership meeting on: February 26th, and will be held at the Round Table Pizza at 2356 Poplar Drive (across from Fred Meyer in the shopping center where Best Buy is located). The meeting will begin at 1:00 pm, and your local will provide pizza and fountain drinks for attendees. The last few meetings have been very active with many issues dealing with workplace issues being discussed. The next VOE drawing will be at the March meeting, so this would be a great opportunity to turn in your survey for next month's drawing.
